Aluminium door sills Allroad

I have a new model Audi A6 Allroad with aluminium doorstrips.

Unfortunately, on one side of the car these are slightlz scratched & have weathermarks.

I have tried various products but so far no succes. I am a little afraid to use anz scotchbrite etc. Any ideas / suggestions?

Could I have them re-paint or anodised? Any good adresses?

What products have you tried, and surely if you have a 'softroader' the door plates will see some action!!!

Had exactly the same after 3 winters in new Allroad. They are mostly spots of aluminium corrosion. You can buy a set of trim pieces for approx £400-500. However, I opted for a couple of hours with combination of very fine steel wool (polishing grade) and a cloth with Solvol Autosol. Try a small trial section first but mine worked well. And a bit of music to relieve the boredom...
