Numpty car washing question
Discussion
All,
I will be upgrading my vehicle soon and I want to ensure that I look after it properly.
I am aware of grit guards and using two buckets, but which is best? If I have one bucket with a grit guard, do I need a second bucket for rinsing? Or is the two bucket method better than using a grit guard?
Or, horror of horrors, do I need two bloody buckets both with grit guards?
Finally whose bucket & guard is best? A quick google reveals the Meguiars (sp?) do them. Anyone else?

I use the Meguiars Grit guard bucket.
Use a Lambs wool or Micro fibre mitt rather than a sponge.
I always rinse with a Karcher. If you dont have one use a hose.
Dry with a synthetic drying cloth or Micro drying towel.
Hope this Helps.

Simple answer to a good question.
Buy two buckets, one as a wash bucket with a grit guard and one as a rinse bucket also with a grit guard. Fill the wash bucket with a decent car shampoo and only ever dunk a clean rinsed washmitt, natural sea sponge etc back into it each time to gather a good lather and rub the mitt against the guard each time it is submerged.
The rinse bucket, fill 2/3rds with water and dunk in the dirty mitt after washing each panel of your car, rub against the grit guard and you will slowly begin to see the water turn a brownish colour and the mitt / sponge will hopefully not have any grit buried in it which will cause swirl marks.
Some people like the Meguiars ones, others prefer the larger clear buckets made by Dodo Juice which are available from this website www.carnaubawaxshop.co.uk
