I use DuPont & find it excellent.
Always best to use the same company's materials right through though - warranty etcthumbup

Alsa is right, avoid generic hardeners, reducers etc - use one brand's system.

As for "which is best?" that's rather like asking which car is best. Everyone has a favourite, but it's both rather subjective, and varies a lot depending on what you want to do with it.

If you're looking to air dry, you want the speediest hardener possible, and a product that will complete its cure cycle at 20 degrees - but fast hardeners tend to involve the biggest drop in gloss. On a black, this could mean a vast amount of final finishing. On a white, you might never notice.

If you're doing a full respray, presumably you have a dust-free environment? Presumably also that's where the car will sit while air drying? If not, contamination problems are going to be very significant. If you're going to be essentially denibbing and hand-finishing the *entire* car, you'll want something that is very easy to flat back and then gloss back up.

A final thought - if you're sufficiently unfamiliar with refinishing products that you need to ask this question, taking on a full respray DIY on a car you care about might be a really, really bad idea. If it's an old snotter you're looking to learn, screw up and practise on, go for it, best of luck to you.

If this vehicle is your P&J, or if having this vehicle look good when you've finished (without ending up having all the DIY work sanded off and getting a pro involved) is important, maybe reconsider the project?

And, as always, if you're spraying 2k product, look after your health? Having the proper PPE is not optional - you only get one set of lungs, and the nasties in the spraymist *have* killed people.

Darn, I am finding paint interesting these days, not just car care products... methinks a spraying course with Anatol and M at my expense (beer and pub grub and materials) when we all have some time! smile Is that rude to invite myself to a training sesh you haven't invented yet, Tol? biggrin
