How do you know if you have gone too far?-old paint.

Just on the old dull paint on a much neglected 1999 Toyota Corolla.

The tailgate(its a liftback) is very faded (red)


I have started work on it using SRP,but I am now left with patchy paintwork,with quite a lot of old red paint on the cloth.

How do I know when to stop? Where do I go from here please?

Employ a Pro to clay and polish it for you, and then seal it.
You'll be there forever chasing the oxidisation with SRP by hand.
