the split rim alloys on my Continental Mulliner (standard 20") are discolouring on the crome part of the alloy. Can this be fixed? I heard somewhere that crome alloys are impossible to fix.

Noting is impossible if you are prepared to spend some money and do your research properly. Yes these wheels can be repaired but it will NOT be £50 or £100 per wheel.

A lot of work will go into it. Easily up to 10 hrs worth I'd have thought. Compare that to the hourly charge of a main dealer mechanic and it starts to look quite cheap. lol.

The issues are quite simple. The wheels are not easy to work with, getting a decent finish is very demanding and the equipment needed by the wheel specialists is not cheap to buy nor maintain.

Alloy wheels are pretty simple to work with once prepared, other types or more 'fancy' materials are way more complex.

Good luck but expect to pay good money for a flawless result.
