hy chaps,

I've bought a set of wheels I've had my eye on for a little while. Now that I have them, I want to give them a good clean and protect them.

At my disposal I have usual household cleaning products, plus car wax and shampoo, plus autosol.

what I plan to do is:

- clean the painted section of the wheel with warm soapy water and a toothbrush.
- clean the polished rim with autosol

however, what should I use to then protect the finish, both of the painted centre section and the rim?

finally, i was thinking of touching up the "Super Advan" lettering using a fine brush and some red paint. But is there any particular paint I should use? And, again, how should i protect it?

thanks!

I'd use a claybar to remove any contaminents then put a couple of coats of wax on to provide some future protection (both on the outer and inner rims).

You can buy specific wheel wax but i've got no experience of these

Clay and polish the painted parts, then seal with a wheel specific sealant/ wax or your regular wax.

coolio. what do people think of the silicon wheel protectors vs normal wax? any good?

after autosol-ing around the bolts of these wheels i am loving the idea of anything in a can!
