I need to weld the rear sills on my 1997 2.0 Ghia Mondeo. What do I need to disconnect electrically to MIG weld it?

You can disconnect the battery to be on the safe side but check you have the radio code if it needs one

Supposedly all ECUs, battery and alternator.
I'd definitely do the battery but I've welded without disconnecting the alternator on various occasions and not had any problems.

We killed an alternator on my mates citroen BX when we forgot to disconnect it.... Could have been coincidence but for 2 minutes spent unplugging some connectors....

I have often heard that you need to disconnect this and that but in many years I have never disconnected anything and not had a problem with MIG, TIG or stick.

Well thank you for all of your help and assistance. I have always disconnected the battery (even on my old Cortina, Granada and Capri's). I will just do the same on the Mondeo.
