refurbed wheels

just got some refurbed wheels from pxwheels and was going to give them a coat of super resin polish before fitting them to the car. Am I doing the right thing or not

I would give them a clean forst with some decent shampoo then seal them with something like Jetseal #109 (Chemical Guys Product) or some Klasse AIO.

Then apply some decent wheel wax, Poorboys or Swissvax. SRP will not withstand the heat generated by wheels when the car is driven hard.

How recent is the refurb? Fresh (at least 30 days, and at current temperatures, possibly quite a lot longer) lacquer shouldn't be sealed in with a coating that prevents off-gassing...

So if they have just been refurbed ie within the last 5 days I should leave them alone. If so when should I do something with them.

I have just put a new set of wheels on my car, I used this stuff based on the fact I could not find a poorboys stockist locally and could not wait for it to be posted;



Seems OK although I am yet to put any miles on the new wheels. I put 4 coats on (for good measure), its easy to apply and does not leave a misty sheen like some of the other cheaper ones available. Also, it came out very well in a number of reviews in the press and on a couple of detailing forums. . .

SRP is a polish not a protectant. For durability and ease of cleaning you'll need to add a protectant. SRP can be used as a pre-stage prior to applying protectant, or you can skip it and simply add the protectant to the clean wheels.
