Polishing Aluminium

As the winter is here I have decided to spend a bit of time getting the aluminium scuttle panel and floor in my car looking a bit better, after a summer of just getting wiped down with a sponge I thought it was about time it had a bit of TLC

What is the best product to use to get the aluminium clean and polished, not looking to see my face in it but to get it looking clean. I have tried Autosol on the scuttle but it looked worse than when I started
