Hello
Whose Paint are you using? BASF PPG?
In my experience, the matting agent needs to be mixed very very very thoroughly.
We had a problem early on with this issue in a current project of mine at work. We found that the matting agent needed to be agitated for more than one hour into the resin BEFORE addition of the hardener.
Another finding we had showed that the gloss level varied significantly with film-build. How sure are you that you are applying the clearcoat evenly?
What size fluid tip are you using and what type of air cap?
The cloudiness you're noticing is likey to be as a result of non-homogeneous 'mixed' clearcoat. This is giving rise to an effect where diffrent areas of the panel are showing different gloss level, so you 'see' patchiness as the result..
That said, I am slightly confused that the sides are ok....
More info might enable me you assist you further...
HTH anyway
