Hello folks,

Successfully resprayed the bonnet on my wife's corsa (petrol blue).
Took me 2 attempts but I was damned if I was going to give up.
Chuffed to bits with the result, no orange peel, sagging, fish eyes etc.

Did it about 2 weeks ago and really need to think about protecting it.

The TVR and Merc I put collinite double coat on (can't remember the number).
Obviously I want to protect it from the elements, if has been sat in the garage the last week and a half and it still very clean.

Should I just follow my usual cleaning regime?

1. Foam lance
2. Rinse and clean
3. Dry
4. Wax
5. Collinite

Collinite 476s is a fantastic wax mate, and comes with great durability, there are others on the market, but if you already have Collinite, why change?

For maintaining in future, try Dodo's Red Mist.

The paint is still curing albeit slowly - it's generally accepted wisdom to leave unprotected for at least 60 days.
Wash often, keep a microfiber cloth (fluffier the better) and a quick detail spray handy, to remove any bird deposits as soon as you see them.
Wash using a very soft wool mitt or sea sponge, but only after rinsing at the very least, but preferably with a degreaser like Bilt Hamber Surfex HD sprayed on via a manual pressure sprayer (garden/plant type) and left for 2-3 mins before rinsing off.
That should only leave the sticky traffic film, and therefore less chance of inflicting swirls into the new 'soft' paint.
