For the rust, just use wet and dry to expose the metal.
For black painted areas etc, the rat guys often just use aerosols. But you could get it properly sprayed. Does defeat the object a bit, but a pro will do it. Just tell them what you want. Most sprayers will gladly paint a panel badly for you - it's painting it well that takes skill and effort.

There are companies that can spray cars and make them look old and rusted, i'm guessing that's what you mean.
Not a great example but something like this ?
Or if you look at this VW the body work is superb but has been made to look rusted around the edges etc. You can just about pick out some of the rusting effect in a few pictures. This is a mates friends car and the look is fantastic and really authentic, still very hard to see if the rust effect is real or not close up. I'm not sure where these people are based so maybe worth a call. Anybody can spray a car crap, making it look good is another matter.
