Polishing chromed plastic

Evening all,

This isn't strictly car related but here goes anyway.

My pc has an Antec p182 SE case, the front and sides are basically chrome covered plastic, over the time I have had it it has picked up a few light scratches.

Would a scratch remover like megs scratchX work on something like this or would it have an adverse effect?

It may, just remember the the chrome effect coating is only a few microns thick. If you polish too hard you may make it worse.

I didn't know it was so thin.

I the Scratch X likely to cut through this? I will be applying by hand.
