Removing Ingrained Dirt from Cast Alloys?
Discussion
Hi - two weeks into ownership of 1987 Porsche 944.
Paintwork gleaming now, but cast alloys have ingrained dirt that toothbrush and detergent won't shift. Wheel seems designed to have hard-to-reach crevices which is probably why previous owner left them alone! Picture below - they are cast alloy. Any suggestions as to products and method to get them clean?
Thanks!

Remove them, and tackle from the rear side, and maybe use Wonder Wheels - but only use on 1/3 of a wheel at a time before thoroughly rinsing.
A good wheel wax/sealant used thereafter should help reduce the amount of grime/brake dust that adheres to them, and make them easier to rinse away.

My TVR alloys were badly curbed and had brake dust engraned into them. I got them powder coated for £45 a wheel and they came back like new, might be an option for you but perhaps not if you dont want to spend any money on them,But when they are like this they sure are easier to keep clean.
