Simply story really, bought a race car thats been fully wrapped (pink and black).

Cars white underneath and thats what I want to take it back to. But the wrap (well, the base matt black wrap) has been on nearly 2 years. How can I best remove it without risking lifting the paint? Should I just get behind a corner and try pealing it back gently or use heat? If heat is the answer, we talking hair drier or heat gun?

I have read about the vinyl used for wraps being low tac but I dont know how the car was resprayed originally from black to white, it may just have been keyed and blown over which might not be that resistant to lifting. (yeah, I know. Black car, sprayed white, wrapped black hehe )

With heat, but not hot. The vinyl is normally thin enough to stretch under a hairdryer, which can make it difficult to pull off in big pieces, so gentle heat and ease it off.

Try and find a local paintshop that will let you have the car in the oven for an hour or 2, will make the job a whole lot easier!
