So.. what do I need to start off
Discussion
I have decided my car needs a decent wash to start the summer time, however I'm going to need some bits to start me off. I've had a look at the various websites and promptly picked myself out a wash mitt and drying towel but obviously I'm going to need a few more things.
I do have a couple of swirls to get rid of, so something to get rid of them would be useful. And then I'm just happy with a decent shine, however I'm not going to go as far as some do and get every sort of cleaning thing known to man
Any recommendations?
Thanks in advance

I would go for a claybar, decent polish (with appropriate applicators), Microfibe towels, and a good wax to seal it.
A good shine is all in the preparation, so wash using the two bucket method, clay the car (I use Megs Last Touch as lube), rewash the car, dry using a drying towel. Then apply the polish using the manufacturers instructions, rinse the car to get rid of any polish residue, dry and then apply wax.
I use Megs Last Touch as a quick detailer (buy it 5 gallon containers and water it down).
If you need a wheel cleaner - bilberry is very good (again you dilute it to the required levels).
Here's one I made earlier

I've been tempted by this kit. I need to do the MX5 quite badly plus I have a new car coming soon so I'd like to stay on top of that from the off.
With Carlack, it is desibed as a paint cleanser and sealer, gets rid of contamination etc. Is this to be used instead of or in conjunction with clay?
