Basically, some tt scuffed my rear arch whilst i was parked on the High Street lastnight.

Its basically just a scuff, not a dent, does anyone reckon this could be repaired by a Smart repair or not??

Any help appreciated.

Apologies, im currently in Surrey, ive got a guy coming today from Chips Away to give me a quote for doing it.

Not sure of a good price for it, less than £100?

Hi. I am a smart repairer in Hampshire and would say that is the sort of repair I perform all the time. There can be an issue with blending the laquer on black, and would be best if the whole panel was laquered. I would charge about £140 plus vat for that, and I'm not a franchise, so I would expect your quote to be a little more maybe?

I know what you mean, but it would make it outside the COSHH regs according to HSE though...

We'd charge £140+vat for that too, so the price is probably about right for leafy Surrey wink

Ive been quoted £180 inc.vat. The guy came and inspected the damage, he reckons the panel will basically need stripping as the scratch is down to the metal. He reckons its a 5hrs process start to finish.

Excuse my poor explanation.

He can do it in two weeks time as well, another firm quoted me £150 without seeing it and couldnt do it until mid July.

Agreed, it is a straight forward 3 hour job at the most, hence £140 plus Vat, just remember smart repairers vary in their standard of work, as in any trade, you should have seen the job I have just been called to give my opinion on which had been done by a so called professional! May be worth calling a couple of independants too, and yes Anatol if he is in your area, is a very safe bet.
