Chips-away or bodyshop...
Discussion
My new P and J...super sexy XJS...has a few little blemishes on its otherwise stunning Ice Blue paint. The worst is a 50p sized area on the bonnet where the laquer has d, the other bits are a few stonechips on the bonnet.
While she has no rust breaking through yet (she is a 1995 facelift) there are some areas which i will get sorted ASAP but i will defo get them looked at by a bodyhop.
As for the little cosmetic bits is a chips-away type fix the best option? will a bodyshop be stupidly expensive? i'll get some pics up ASAP
P.S i'm in Worcester.

For lacquer delamination and stone chips on the bonnet, the only full cosmetic repair is a bonnet respray. A thorough repair may also involve blending the wings. This will require a spraybooth. Some of the ChipsAway fixed sites have one - nearest to you would be Wolverhampton, I think. The "ChipsAway *or* Bodyshop" distinction isn't a real one any more - the line between SMART repairer and bodyshop is quite fuzzy nowadays.

Hi there, i'm a smart repairer, to be honest, the outdoors envoirnoment isn't the best for respraying a bonnet, especially something as big as an XJS, although i have done it on other cars. For best results, find a good bodyshop, and negotiate a deal for all the bits that need doing.
