Hi, I'm currently restoring a MR2 mk1 (a massive rust trap) and I'm wondering what products you guys reccoment to treat and prevent rust. I have cut out most of the problem areas however there is still some surface rust in places and this is what I'd like advice with, what do you suggest I put on to remove the rust and wha do you suggest I put on t kep it rust free (hopefully for a LONG time)

Please be aware that most of the rust that's left can't be cut out or at least not with my current skill level and as far as I'm aware it's only surface rust.

Thanks

Liam

A well trusted and tested range of products are available from Bilt Hamber.
It is all I use these days for this sort of stuff, best peruse their website to decide what to use where.

They also do a paint on underseal, called Dynax UB not on their website, available if you order by phone.

Only permanent answer other than cutting out & letting in new metal (which sounds like a no-go) is to get a spot blast gun & clean the areas thoroughly with that; though you will require a fairly high cfm compressor for it to be completely effective.
Hope this helps, Al.
