I have (or rather my other half does) a solid black VW Corrado G60. The paintwork is in very nice condition, having just been detailed by myself, so swirls and holograms are almost non existent. The problem is with water spotting.
The car was cleaned today, then we had a few sharp showers, followed by strong sunshine. Where the water has beaded up on the wax, the sun has left watermarks all over the car. They cant be removed with just a wash with car shampoo or a going over with quick detailer.
So, whats the best way to remove them now (polishing again?), and what can I do to prevent this in the future?

It now looks a total mess

If limescale spots, you'd need a decent cleanser to remove them (I use our Dodo Juice Lime Prime Lite for this). If just dirt, a decent cleaner may shift them again - a mild solvent would help but could affect the wax. If the water has actually fallen on curing wax/sealant then it may have marked the wax or sealant with a tide mark, you'd need to remove the wax/sealant (strong detergent, clay, maybe solvent) to remove the marks.

Watermarks after washing can be avoided by using an open tap at final rinse to minimise spots, and fast drying with a towel. Or even better, a final rinse with 0 ppm filtered water (DI resin filter). But if rain spotting, not much you can do apart from wash and dry after every shower or cleanse the spots after.

Its rain spotting, washing is done panel at a time as black dries very quickly I sseem to find.

The car had just been cleaned, but the wax had cured and had been buffed off before the rain, so I can only assume that its lime spotting from the rain drying on the paint.

Looks like Im ging to have to get the dual action polisher out again.

Out of interest, Ive used Dodo juice lime prime on it in the past, only I found the paint to have an oily finish aferwards, giving an uneven finish, what was I doing wrong? I used it at a medium speed with a mild polishing pad
