Hello all! I'm wanting to buy myself a pressure washer and am leaning in the direction of Nilfisk - one of the c120 variety. Like many I'm intregued by the snow foam - enough to want to be able to use it if I want to. I notice that these washers have a foam bottle attachment. Does this work well? If not then what sort of advantage is there in buying an aftermarket one such as http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/washing-and-drying/f...

Money well spent?

What is the verdict on the nilfisk option? After years of doing a mediocre job with buckets I'd like to get my car looking as good as it can!

A pressure washer is probably not the answer to what you seek, from your wording above.
Foaming is a pre-wash stage only, and many people "get by" with a manual pump sprayer and a decent 'all purpose cleaner' before rinsing off, admittedly with a pressure washer mostly.
A PW and snow foam will not improve the look of the paint once washed/clayed/waxed - your paint prep via a filling glaze (oil-based or synthetic) or correction by hand/electric polisher is the key to ultimate looks.
Maintaining that with a good twin-bucket and pre-wash regime is the name of the game thereafter, and it's not dependent upon having a pressure washer and/or snow foam.

Don't let that stop you getting one, and a lance, but don't be under any illusions about what they're for, and what you'll achieve with their purchase.

If you are going for a half decent PW, then Nilfisk is the way to go. Alu' water pump and connectors are a no brainer for durability and servicability (did I just make that up?).

I would write loads on how it doesn't actually contribute too much to the end result, but it's all ^above^ me biggrin The preventative side of them is quite appealing though (less swirls put on that nice paint you've just polished a few months previously).

Enjoy.

To actually answer your question... the foam bottle is "OK" but the foam doesn't stay on the car long - it runs off too easily. An aftermarket one would give a thicker, more durable foam.
