my mate mopped his car and its left some swirl marks. whats the best way to get rid of them. thanks for the help.

What car and what were the products used in the first place? They've gone to harsh with the product/pad choice and will require a much milder approach to refine the finish further.

These are typically referred to as 'buffer trails' or 'holograms'. As Jim says, he should have refined down after achieving the required cut. So he just needs to machine again with a lighter pad/compound until a perfect finish is achieved. Buffer trails are removed easily with medium/light machine polishing.

its a red vauxhall corse but the car is not lacquered. does that make any difference. i think its a 05 but it had gone very pink. the colour is now good but in the sun you can see the swirls.
