Hi,

I've got an 05 plate mica black Impreza WRX which has had bird poo left on it for a while (long story, but the wife clearly doesn't think cars need to be cleaned) and this looks like its damaged the paint on the bonnet.

I've throughly clayed and cleansed the spots affected using Swissvax standard cleanser and whilst this has improved things, the patches are still visible.

What do people recommend to remove such marks?

Thanks,

Mark.

Soft paint, so a light abrasive and medium/soft foam pad.
Have a chat with Ben at www.carnaubawaxshop.co.uk and he'll be able to offer a few items to deal with it by hand.
Most other known resellers, tend to cater more for the DA/Rotary machine user, so do carry the velcro hand/finger-straps which allows you to use standard 6" or small 4" pads.

On subaru paint Menzerna rd.302 with a german aplicator pad if working by hand. Depending on how bad the etching is though it may not come out and would be a respray job to get rid.

Bring it by, I'll have one of the techs look it over and advise if it's something that can be polished out or if it would need paint (which is very often the case if the mark has left anything other than a very shallow indentation in the clear).
