Engine and Gearbox Painting

Apologies if this has been covered before, I am intending to paint and engine and gearbox and obviously want the highest quality longest lasting finish. I would like to keep the alloy factory finish look. Ive done a lttle research on the world wise web and so far am erring towards U Pol etch primer and Simoniz silver alloy wheel paint. A Ford enthusiast had tested it, including heating it, along with some others and it seemed the best option. I may laquer it as well though haven't really explored that option. The engine and gearbox are pretty much on display as they will be fitted into an exoskeleton car so hence wanting it to be the best possible that I can do myself. Advice appreciated, thanks.
