Hi Guys, I've had an FMIC on the car for the last 6 months or so. It gets a good wash whenever the car gets done, but it doesnt seem to make any real difference. Its fairly visible and I wanted to try to make it look better.
I cracked on with some Autosol this afternoon, which made it look slightly better, but still pretty poor to be honest. I can only really do the end caps this way too, becuase I cant polish across the face of the IC without bending the fins.
Are there any products out there that will cut down the majority of grime to keep the application of elbow grease to a minimum?

I used brake cleaner on an old car before i sold it, brought it up a treat.
Not sure about keeping it clean day to day, maybe one of the alloy wheel protector sprays, anything too waxy might stop the FMIC being as effective, temperature wise?
Not sure to be honest, brake cleaner will definitely do the business for a once in a while clean up though.

Thats good idea. I was thinking of using some alloy wheel cleaner, or might that be too corrosive? Not sure about keeping it clean day to day, maybe one of the alloy wheel protector sprays, anything too waxy might stop the FMIC being as effective, temperature wise?

Buy something like this which can be diluted down ,
http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/wheels-and-tyres/meg...
It is acid based so will attack alloy's when used with a strong mix , but used correctly can clean the worst stained corroded alloy
this link may help too
