SWISSVAX - worth the money
Discussion
So got some swissvax wax and cleaner fluid, but looking to really clean/polish/wax my cars...
Is buying the swissvax stuff worth it, wash mit, car shampoo, aplicators etc, or are normal microfiber cloths from halfords and a nice towel stolen from the Mrs' airing cupboard as good?
Do I really need to spend a tenner on a wooly sponge and 40 quid on car shampoo?

When it comes to applicator pads the Meguiars stuff is perfectly fine and probably a bit cheaper than the SV stuff. I'd probably still go for a decent car microfibre "drying towel" as these will be soft so as not to marr or scratch your paintwork. However the blue alcantara polishing cloths from Swissvax are extremely good when it comes to buffing the wax. Your not removing it remember just flattening it and they are 1st rate if a little pricey. They do wash well though and mine are going strong after a lot of professional use and hammer. As for shampoo just make sure whatever you buy wont strip your wax off. SV car bath is very good and very mild but there are cheaper options just depends on how far you want to go.Is buying the swissvax stuff worth it, wash mit, car shampoo, aplicators etc, or are normal microfiber cloths from halfords and a nice towel stolen from the Mrs' airing cupboard as good?

I love the swissvax range, and have 90% of there waxes. I do use car bath, but I also use dodo juice born to be mild, which is fantastic and optimum which is also good. As for towels its 100 % worth purchasing a a plush drying towel. This is due to them being 70% polyester and 30% polyamide. This makes them the most absorbant and softest towels you can get. This way you can dry your car quickly without inflicting damage. As for applicator pads for polish and wax application I tend to stick to dodo juice finger applicators, swissvax, zaino & megs. Heres links to my personal picks!

It's always worth getting a decent mitt (OR TWO). Try to use one for the upper half and another for the lower half. This will stop cross contamination due to the lower half of your car gets dirtier.

As for towels to remove cleaner fluids and polishes I only use zaino snow white towels. Nothing I have used come close to these:

Lastly for removal of wax, these are my favorite towels:

or if your careful with the edges these are great too, but I try to stick to borderless towels:
