Need a steer and advice on what and how to get a bike to shine with the wet look.

It is a Honda in black. Have generally used Autoglym Super Resin Polish but wonder if there are products more suited to plastic panels that would give me the "shiney wet look".

Also, is there is product for black plastics that can withstand a couple of hosepipe washes without the need for re-application whistle

You need wax not polish.

Apologies, I do wax after using SRP probably on a 6:1 ratio and depending on weather conditions.

And yes, do get the wet look during these months wink

both polish and was will give more wet look .

Polish / compound will when used correctly will finish any painted and plastic surface with a deeper wet look , which will be permanent UNLESS you induce damage from washing and contact cleaning methods .

Where as a wax (also known as polish to confuse things) will fill in micro damage so temporary making the surface look better and adding protection at the same time .

Compounds and polishes are the same thing just a polish is normally a very fine compound and sometimes with added agents for extra effect .

on my guides will be some help

compounds

and waxes / sealents

http://www.kdskeltec.co.uk/waxing.phtml

for the best finish the compound/polish route then wax will always be the very best .

Here is a bike that came in allready clean and waxed but wanted the deeper wet look , which meant machine correct with fine compounds / polish first then sealent over the top for protection

after cleaned slowly with small tooth brushes in all the tight areas we then started machining

bike striped of some parts

correction

some afters wearing sealent

the parts that could not be reached with machine had to be cut buy hand
