Do clay bars go "off" ?

Just remembered I have a lump of clay kicking about I've only used a tiny bit of - will it still be alright to use now (2 years on probably) ? Should still be sealed in it's original little plastic box.

This is assuming I can actually find it in the shed

Never known them too, I suppose they may dry out a little but shouldn't go off, just drop it in some clean hot water and move it around a bit to soften it up, should be fine

I've found that eventualy they start to crumble when they get older. I think this is down to the qd and sometimes some react with certain t&g removers if not rinsed properly.

If you look after them though they can last a while. I've been using them for about 5 years or so and have only gone through 3.

I know this is obvious but if you ever drop it, sling it straight in the bin. This is why I always cut mine in half. That way if I do drop it I've got some left.
