Hi after sprucing up the girlfriends valentines present (Skoda Fabia) (she only passed her test the week before) and spending most of the week on it i think i am going to go buy myself a decent Rotary. My reason for this is after using the likes of G10 and 3M Fine polish (blue top) by hand and getting no where fast and now using a cheap orbital and still getting no where fast i switched to G3 and the orbital to give me more cut. Now the car altho being a one owner from new has not been looked after at all and there were scratches all over every panel, so i had to work every panel a bit at a time for hours just to get them to fade. I also suspect that the polish wasn't breaking down properly as i then had to go over it all again with the finer polish to get a decent shine which i then used SRP on to bring it up even more as i was still not happy with the shine and was running out of time and patience.
Now i know alot of people warn about burning thru paint etc and going turu on corners but I'm not retarded and will start off on the finest polish and softest pad on the slowest speed and stay away from plastic bumpers and corners at first and take it from there.
So after spending hours looking at different models and packages i have seen this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&am... which is about twice what i was going to pay for one but as far as i can see comes with everything i need i.e. backing plate, hard medium and soft pads, course medium and fine polish and also some good masking tape.
Now I'm a fan of DoDo anyway and even assuming this is just re-branded I'm assuming that it must be a quality item or they wouldn't put there name on it? Also i am lead to believe that 3M polishes and pads are among the best so my question to the vastly more knowledgeable out there is.... Am i doing the right thing and is this a decent deal/the one i should be going for? Oh and i will be using it on my MK3 Golf BMW and also TVR along with the mothers Puma so it will get some use.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated! Many thanks in advance!

Looks like a good deal. I've not used the dodo machine but I would have thought it was a good machine for the money.
Have a look at the same items on here http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/ to see how good the deal is. CYC give you redeemable points when you buy from them which does help.

Hi and thanks for your reply! I was actually looking on there as you replyed and have seen they have it cheaper. I read the other thread on here about them and all there happy customers and thought i'd check them out. No publicity being bad publicity or what! Lol!
Anyway if i go for that one i will definately buy it from them as I'm now looking at everything else they sell and it's getting expensive! tongue out

Once you've been bitten by the bug it gets very expensivebiggrin

Just buy the minimum products needed for each stage. Then when you get used to them start trying other products
until you find the right combinations for each of your cars and yourself.

Make sure you get some sound advice on the compounds you use on those different cars you cited there. VW and BMW have very hard paint (3M or Menzerna) whereas Ford has soft paint so don't go in with something you'd use on a German car. No idea about a TVR but as they're plastic you might have to be careful about what you use as the heat generated could be a problem.
