hi i have a yellow car and i am beginning to hate the colour and the comments of my friends and family- some of whom wont even get into the car because of the colour

so i was thinking of putting black masking tape all over the car. Is this actually legal to do? Will i have to tell the DVLA, as essentially it will be a wrap. Please advise and will the paint underneath be ok?>

i havent seen any cars on the road with masking tape on all over, and i wonder why not

Why not just wrap the car professionally or sell it? I would have thought masking tape will come of in the rain and at speed, making it a danger to other road users.

I guess you mean "duck" tape, the stuff with the mesh in it? It falls apart when it gets wet. I know this because the window of my Triumph Dolomite always fell down when it rained...

Calm down dear. I was simply pointing out that "Duck" tape is completely different to "Duct" tape.

Just relax a bit.

What a retarded idea. Have you seen what duct tape leaves behind when peeled off?

This has got to be a joke?

Why not just wrap it youself?

Would turn out a hell of alot better than covering it with Duct tape!! (is actually also called duck tape)

All you need is a hairdryer, knife and some vinyl

ideaBuy a few tins of blackboard paint, you can then add your own chalky viper stripes, sponsorship logos, anything you want. You can entertain your friends by getting them to draw on it and when it rains you can do a whole new design on it!laugh

Definately cover it in duct tape as long as you remember to post photos of the result here.

Make sure you're not inside the car when it's being done!
