hi guys im after a polisher for my car but im unsure which one to get i have seen a few i like and the new g220 is coming out i have seen a website that offer's this for £190 the rrp at £200 so not a bad deal i have shopped about for a few weeks but there not in stock in the uk do u think its worth hanging on ?? cheer karl

Could you get a sliverline rotary instead, £40 and less hard work than a DA.

You can buy a das-6 pro for a lot less money, i got mine from autojoy.co.uk
then spend the rest on other stuff.

Not advisable if you've not used one before imho. If going this route buy a scrap panel from a scrap yard and practice. If you get it wrong you stand a lot more chance of inflicting damage and even the need for a respray with a rotary. The DA is a lot more forgiving.

I've got the Kestral DAS-6 as my DA. It's a great piece of kit for the money and if you ordered one tonight you could have it with you in time for the weekend. No brainer if you ask me.

I like the "lot less hard work bit". Er not really imo. At least a 2 stage proces with the rotary whereas a DA will give you a great result and LSP ready finish with the correct pad / polish combo in one hit.

Agreed, I used prefer my rotary but after reading a article written by todd cooperider of esoteric detail my DA is doing more and achieving cracking results in less stages, not that all jobs are the same but i'm sure you understand what i mean.
The DA polisher will replace the rotary imo.

After loads of reading I have just ordered a Kestrel das 6 pro from fleabay for 117 plus 5.95 postage, 850 watts of happiness hopefully, have used a mates meg 220 so should be interesting to compare,

I had a das-6 which i gave away after using the das-6 pro, with the right pad and polish combo cracking results are easy to achieve with a bit of patients.

Is this a rotary or dual action??

I tried it for the first time a couple of days ago on an old car door and only used it for 5 minutes mainly because it is very, very noisy, Are they all this noisy?

When it was in contact with the panel it produces a loud screeching noise.

To be honest I could produce as good a result by hand.

The machine is a rotary, not the most refined but will do the job, just a bit more time practicing.
