Guys

For the oens who have mved to Oz recently, who did you use to ship your belongings and roughly how much did it cost.

Probably need to send half a container in April

Cheers Sean

PS the UK to OZ exchange rate is crap at the moment hope it picks up in the next 6 months.

Hi Sean... I used Britannia removals, everything went into a 20ft sealed container and cost £4500 in total.. Marine insurance is the most expensive part.. there is no VAT with shipping your household belongings either.

Remember though, you'll need to clean everything and anything thats been outside, otherwise they'll sting you for steam cleaning...

Hope that helps

£4500, I leave everything here I think, that sounds extociante.

If you don't want to take large items of furniture etc, then Seven Seas shiiping can ship a load of boxes. That's what I'm doing. 20 teachests and 10 book boxes (each box has a 40KG limit) for about £1200

We paid £1895.00 for a sole use 40ft container with my car in the front and all our household stuff behind it. I organised insurance seperately myself which came to about another £500.

This was dock-to-dock rather than door-to-door but the logistics at either end weren't too tricky to organise seperately and certainly didn't bring it up to anything like the amount Britania etc also quoted to me.

my employer paid our moving expenses, but the 40ft container with 26ft of goods, insurance, and our Caterham SV worked out at £ 6,200 door-to-door, all expenses (save car import) covered in that fee. i believe that's probably about going rate....

We used Crown.

23 boxes packed and moved door to door cost £1200 all in. Only thing to be aware of is if you are moving less than container load your stuff might sit in the UK for a while until space becomes available. Mine did. Once it left it only took a few weeks to get here though.

One thing to remember is that you'll be without whatever you ship for some time, probably at both ends.

Hi Steve, may I ask how you got on with getting the car out there. not worried about the actual shipping, more the costs in duty ect. I want to take the Noble with me?

Thanks

Martin

Hi again,

On another note, any idea where I could find any Nobles for sale in OZ as I would like an idea on the value of it out there.

I have done a few searches but didn't come up with anything.

I might just take it out, drive it for a bit and then sell it and get an Exige. Just want to find out if its better to sell here and then get the Exige.

Anyone also know if the kit and fitting of the aftermarket Supercharger for the Exige is available in OZ?
