Inspiration required, classic racing mini paint job
Discussion
Looking for a bit of inspiration from fellow PHers, I've just about finished my classic (67 mark 1) Cooper resto which has put her in race trim for hill climbing and the odd track outing. Body work is all pretty smart now, apart from the roof which'll need a repaint. Which got me thinking...
I'd like to do something cool with it but not too over the top. Union Jacks are out as a mate of mine already has that paint job.
Car body is Clipper blue and the roof is a typical Cooper S white. Wheels are gold, although I suppose I could change them too.
So any ideas? Something cool, understated but eye catching. Thinking caps on and crayons out.

If the white is in good nick I would use it one way or another, you could always get it blown over with a semi transparent/translucent lacquer, maybe a shade of blue or gold. I've seen similar done on a few custom Buells that left the factory in white and it can look really good. Or, subtle and understated - flat back the existing white and paint a PH logo in matt black...doesn't get much more subtle than that! Seriously tho' on a racing Mini "This way up" might be appropriate...
