Borgward Isabella Coupe
Discussion
Anyone had anything to do with these?
A colleague of mine owned one in the 1980's and was adamant it was the best classic car he'd had (and he'd had a lot).
From the reading up I've done they seem to be a quality product, but what are they really like ?
I see they are even eligible for the Mille Miglia.

This is the Coupe... http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3154519.htm
Yours for Only 22K GBP
... But simply lovely...
(nevermind the water damage, interior shot is "before". I hope. Otherwise a very well done adv.). There is also a Cabrio which is as pretty as anything from it's day, if you accept the possible overuse of chromium.
My opinions of course.

Apologies
Saw a couple on the Borgward stand at the NEC CLassic show a couple of years ago - got talking to one of the guys as I was deciding on the colour my car was to eb sprayed - these were both silvery/grey - but slightly different - I asked the guy if he knew the official colour and whether it was available by some paint code etc.
Yes, he said, MINI Metallic Grey! So much for originality but suited the shape though.
Reliable car he said, insurance was decent - and rarity meant you never see another one (except at the NEC)
