Amazing what one could get as a graduation present.

On a similar note, this 300 SL roadster is now for sale by the municipality of Pireaus. It was gifted by a wealthy industrialist and MP to the city of Pireaus 27 years ago. The car will be auctioned with a starting price of 240.000 euros. Pretty steep but maybe considering the crazy prices obtained by barn-finds, it might actually be cheap!!!

I keep looking in my garage and no matter how many times I check there never seems to be some historic super car suddenly appearing in there.

Hmm>>I do have quite a good old snowblower there, but it never seems to turns into a barn find completely original 250GTO no matter how many times I check. I am forced to conclude that there is no Santa Claus after all. Its disappointing.

Angela Merkel probably fancies a piece of that in return for all the support she's offering at the moment.

Hopefully you will have the same sudden urge to run when faced with a randy half ton bull or old farmer Giles loading a couple into the barrel of his shotgunsmile

I would love to know how much he sold that for as restored Alloy 300SL's have been sold recently at auction for over a million

An (Italian) friend of mine acquired a one off glass-fibre bodied Testarossa with 512R running gear which had been commissioned from Ferrari by an Italian Industrialist who wanted something a little special!

After only a couple of thousand miles it was laid up in one of his factories where it sat for some years whilst the owner was abroad setting up businesses in South America. (Un?)fortunately, whilst out there he also found a new wife and needed to dispose of some assets as a result of finalising the divorce with the first one... By chance my friend acted as his divorce lawyer and took payment in the form of the lovely red Testarossa that he'd been admiring for years.

The greek 300 SL roadstrer sold for 400.000 euros. Barnfinds are way more expensive than restored cars. Go figure....
