Classic insurance for a young'un
Discussion
Had my first year of insurance on an MGB GT with Footman James for £1,037 TPFT, Unlimited mileage but after a year they want to increase it by nearly £300! I was hoping it would drop with a years experience under my belt.
Can anyone recommend any other insurers for me to try?
I've tried Adrian Flux, Admiral, Peter James, Lancaster (and a few other I can't remember) who all either refused to quote or told me it wasn't worth telling me the price.
This insurance thing is all a bit arse about face as on the trade policy at work its no bother for me to drive £50,000+ worth of 911 Turbo....

try footman james. I have a policy with them and my housemate has had a lot of quotes from them. mind you, we are both now 21 with three year full licsences.
They're the ones who want to drop an extra £300 on last years premium
there are quite a few to try... frank pickles, msm etc etc etc
hope they dont try and dump more money on my policy, really cant afford it if they do >.<
Try footman James. Yup, I read the OP. Phone them again, give them a different name and see if the quote is different. That's worked for me in the past - ins co's seem to value new custom much more highly than loyalty...
Once you've got your quote correct them on your name and take out the cover.

How many miles do you actually do? Unless you are doing well over 10k surely it would be better than unlimited. I am limited to 3k on my only car as I don't commute with and that makes it quite reasonable. It is annoying that I can get quotes of under £200 but as a classic policy they won't cover as it is my main car.

mine does as I have access to another carbut I'm not young
the limited mileages I've see stop at 7,000 miles or before, my policy is same price for unlimted mileage as the highest limited milage

Came up with a price around 40% cheaper than Footmans, Carol Nash and others quoted.
