And what were the mods ? As far as i am aware , any New or Used MGC could be converted.

I believe Tripple Webber 45 s ? A 6 Branch Exhaust manifold, Stiffer Anti Roll Bars, Springs etc were part of the package ? Anyone have a copy of a Period Road test ?

Not sure if it's exactly what you're looking for, but it's part way.

I'm not aweare of records being kept I'm lead to believe that Bunty Richmond the wife Daniel Richmond who owned Downton ordered all the paperwork to be destroyed when the compnay closed frown

I would love to find out mopre about Downton as a company and their cars as I think they are a much over looked company in the history of tunning of BMC cars in particular. May be worth contacting DEWS http://www.bjautobits.co.uk/dews.htm

Do you have a Downton car?

Thanks for the replys guys . Purely by accident I have just discovered a Downton Converted MGC , which has been off of the road for years.
That Road Test was Very interesting , in that Downton bought the last of them and apeared to have done well in shifting the lot of them. But it doesnt go into detail re the Downton Spec / Mods.

I also remember the C and S feature on Downton.
