Obviously what I want is a blower Bently, but What I can afford is bassically a box of bits and hopefully a V5.

You'll get a running Austin 7 for three or four thousand. A box of bits is cheaper. In fact A7 bits are cheap and plentiful.

Try www.750mc.co.uk for ideas, they love "period modifications" too. A good special can have the look of a mini Bentley if not the performance or sound.

that guys a dreamer, a 20hp chassis is far too weak to create a 'bentley special' from, thats why perterson uses the 20/25 or the phantom 2.

i dread to thing what sort of deathtrap you could create with a 20hp and a b80 engine.......

I've decided to win the lottery this week, and am currently seeking my dream cars; a lovely Alfa 8C 2.9 and an Invicta low chassis 4.5 Meadows engine. I must confess that after 30 years of Jaguars there is somewhere in me an itch to try other things before I get too old.

I wouldn't bother with that Austin Ulster at the top unless you want to race it with the 750mc as that's what it is built for.

The one I like the look of at the moment is this Austin 7 Chummy.

Might be slightly biased in that I own one of these, (and an Ulster) but it will get you into cheap vintage motoring and looks to be VSCC eligible.

I work on one, but sadly way out of my price range
