Bloodhound...the ultimate classic
Discussion
Thought I'd share this with you; just got home from spending a superb evening at Brooklands tonight together with the Royal Aeronautical Society.
The event was a lecture given by Richard Noble O.B.E. on the forthcoming Bloodhound 1000mph world land speed record attempt. Some of the figures presented were just mind-blowing. Have been fotunate enough to have heard Richard present at a number of events/lectures including Thrust & SSC back in the early 80's, but tonight he was on absolute tip-top form having us in fits of laughter; particularly the statement "try googling 'french victories/record attempts'...", "and you'll notice there's nothing post 1914...!!" Priceless
If any of you are interested it's worth visiting the Bloodhound website. Plus, who here thinks the Bloodhound could be the ultimate classic car in 50+ years time??

Sounds like a great evening
A couple of years ago the Bloodhound guys were at Snetterton fund raising I was trying to persuade one of my young lads to get his autograph and poster as he was looking at a piece of history in the making.
Somewhat under duress he went forward and he still has the poster, maybe one day when I'm six foot under he'll dig it out and show it to his son

Ant, your friend's got a once in a liftime experience with this; fantastic. We saw some filming last night of SSC with video camera mounted on top of SSC during record breaking; it was very special.http://www.flickr.com/photos/stefanmarjoram/sets/7...

I like the fact that they are basically using an F1(poetic licence) engine as a fuel pump.
