Hi,

Don't know if anyone can help me. I have been left a house and some land, in one the garages I found a 1948 Vauxhall 6. Does anybody know anything about these?

I have not really had a look at it's condition. But I know it hasn't moved form the garage for 25 years.

What sort of condition is it in? Any photos?

Oh I see so it must be worthless scrap, which can't possibly be of any use or value to anyone then?

I can take photos for it tomorrow evening. It was dark when I went into the garage not sure what it's like condition wise. To me it just look like a very very old car. I no nothing about old cars. To me it could look OK but be totally useless or vice versa

Although not terribly desirable , quite a rare car , even if the condition of the car is not great it is still worth putting it on EBAY with a start price of £200 , you might be surprised .

Scrapyard will give you scarp value and then sell it for car value, you may as well sell it yourself, as suggested, shove it on ebay.

Please don`t scrap it its an old classic J Type, not very sort after but got to be worth money to an enthusiast. As said advertise it on the Vauxhall club site, E Bay,or Pistonheads?.I bet there are J Type owners somewhere crying out for some spares.

Actually, well done to the OP for having the foresight to come on here in the first place.
Agreed not the most popular classic but, still worth money to someone and as another said, you might be surprised how much. Put in the classified's here as well as ebay, good luck

Don't scrap it... make some enquiries, there will be someone who will turn up with a trailer and take it away... better to give it to a good home than to send it to the graveyard.

I've just acquired an older Vauxhall Twelve... paperbag

I`ve found some old "for sale" ads on the net and 1948 Jtype`s all clean, tidy running order etc were going for between £3.5 - £5 grand.

Hi

I haven't had time to take pictures of it as I've been busy trying to get finished for Christmas. I've finished now for 10 days so I'll have time tomorrow hopefully.

Whatever you do, don't scrap it! It will be worth something, somewhere, to someone.
