Your restorations

I'm new to the board and wanted to know if anyones restoring a car at the moment? If so what are you restoring anything exciting?

I've got a bay window camper, twin sliding door that i'm restoring well i say restoring i've owned it for 2 1/2 years and done nothing to it apart from take things off it! I will get round to it one day once theres room for it to go into the workshop.

Not a full restoration, just trying to get the thing back on the road really but I've been doing my Porsche 944 for the last few years. I rescued it from a garage where it had sat for 8 years seizing up from neglect.

I'm in the middle of a very large rebuild of my Alfa 1750GTV, totally stripped out and an awful lot of metal to replace, been on the go with it for about 6 months and expect to be at least another 6, probably 12.

Triumph TR5. Bought about 10 years ago needing body work - done that, well did not restore just got it roadworthy to use for the summer ended up getting 5 summers out of it now the chassis needs replacing . I have bought a american rust free early TR6 chassis . So from next year I am starting from the chassis up hopefully ill have the time?

Hi Claes, some great photos there.

Is it a D Super, D Special or D Super 5? Could be a DS21 of course but think I can see a regular brake pedal on one of the photos...

I love the look of the smaller ID wheel trims.

Not sure yet which "route" to go yet.

Heart says restore original shell, head says buy a "new" Heritage shell and the wallet says something completely different.

It's going to be a long, long while.

I love the 944's we've just recomisioned one and we bought another 944 to use for parts so we're thinking of turning that one into a road/track day car.

Theres some really nice projects on here. The Citroen DS is beautiful i really like the colour.

I'll upload some photos of my camper van when i can but for now heres some pictures of the 944 we've just finished.

I'm currently working on my Triumph Spitfire/GT6 hybrid. In effect it will be a convertible GT6 when it is finished.

It started out as a decent MK3 GT6 chassis, engine, transmission and running gear with a rotten body and what I thought was a half decent Spitfire Mk4 body.

It turns out the Spitfire body isn't as good as I thought it was, so I'm undergoing a crash course in welding... When I've finished that I'll be undergoing a crash course in bodywork preparation and spraying. I'm keen to do as much as I can myself. Although with a full time job that has me away from home 3 nights a week, a distance learning Masters and a heavily pregnant wife, finding hours to spend in the garage is tricky...
