If you look on www.xkdata.com you'll find the details.
Just enter the chassis number.

I believe that it is the first DHC.
I just had this note from a previous owner.

"MHP 494 was registered a year before the dhc was announced.
I believe John Harper ended up with the number on a C type built from the remains of #36 from USA.
It might not look very good but it did actually run & the engine sounded fantastic. But the rest was decidedly iffy.
I remember if touching the brake pipes resulted in wet brake fluid covered fingers & yet it had quite good brakes.
It had a plaque on the dash declaring it a replica of the Jabekke record breaking car."

Thanks for your input folks.

Given its history I would think it highly unlikely that it has ceased to exist.

The next place to try asking would be either the XK Club (www.xkclub.com) or the XK forum on Jag Lovers. (www.jag-lovers.org)
