Guys and girls,

My Mrs Dad has been told he has 3 to 6 months to live battling lung cancer and losing.
Now its just an idea at the moment and would need to see if

1: I can get anyone interested
2: if the Mrs and her brother like the idea

and

3: if its something he will enjoy at this stage in life...

My Mrs Dad used to own Sprites and from all accounts loved them, and I was thinking it might be a nice treat for him to get a ride in one or something along these lines...

Is there anyone around Yeovil/Long Sutton who has 1, 2 or 3 etc we can tag a ride in for a hour or so around Somerset area? I am more than happy to sort the fuel costs out etc?

If you own one, know someone who own one etc please have a word and let me know. He lives right next to Long Sutton Golf Club so that would be a good place to meet smile

Thanks in advance

Mark

My stepmother has one in Southampton, but its currently not road worthy after being restored for the last 7 years. It's not far away from being finished tho, so I'll ask her how long till its back on the road.

Try in the "Classic Cars and Yesterday's Heroes" section. I'd have thought you may have more luck there. Your post won't fall off the first page so soon for starters.

Also you could try the Austin Healey Owners Club. They have a South West area link on their website with contact details.

Can he travel? If so a visit to one of the early spring car shows could be a good idea. I'm sure someone there would be more than happy to assist.

Guys, thanks for the info.
He is not massively mobile, can travel in cars etc but too much puts him out of breath.
I will check the local clubs etc and see if I get a hit. I will also speak with Haynes, I know they have one

Mark not everyone is in a club and a lot of Sprites owners will hibernate there car until warm sunny days but not all of them and the one that use them more will probably give your dad a better drive as they’re used to driving their cars more

Try the MG BBS as you will also probably reach the MASC there as well as non-club members and multi-club members

Good luck

garyfrogeye is a member on here and (obviously!) has a Frog. He doesn't live near you, but is on the MASC committee so may know someone near you.

AHC southwestern website is here http://www.ahc-southwestern.co.uk/
