Peugeot 504 - Any still around?

Watching TV and happened to notice some rubbish ad had a Peaugeot 504 Estate in it.
This intrigued me as to whether there are any left in the UK in regular use.
I know there are coupes and convertibles around as they appear from time to time at shows, but the saloon and estates appear non-existent here in the UK these days.
Incidently, I have always had a thing for the coupe in the same way as the Fiat 130 of that era.

Yes there are 504`s around but very few in the UK and the owners would not part with them.The 504Ti which had fuel injection,discs all round,independent coil suspension,torque tube drive etc etc was ahead of its time in the early 70`s.Sadly the box section bodywork was very prone to rusting in wet climates.You will have to go to North Africa or Israel to find them in daily use.The taxi`s in Luxor Egypt are mainly 70`s 504 estates and still going strong.Have a look on www.classiccarsforsale.co.uk and you will find a few for sale in Europe.

My dad bought one new in 1973 - OLT 113L - Peugeot dealer, in Stepney. Loved it, said it was the most comfortable car he ever owned. Maroon with tan velour interior. I think he paid about £1700 for it from memory. No pics which is a shame.
A lovely car - I think he regretted selling it in the end (Vauxhall Cavalier coupe in 1976)

I was only a small child then but I do recall it was quite unreliable (wouldn't start when warm). It left us stranded a few times. I remember it was silver with sticky, sweaty green vinyl seats.
However my father said it was the best rough road car he had driven. He used to do a lot of dirt road driving on business and was quite the lead foot. He traded it on an E9 BMW 3.0L which often suffered from a holed petrol tank on the (then) rough country roads in the Hunter Valley north of Sydney.

I started my Peugeot career from the boot of a 403!! and this is my present Peugeot,a 1964 404 Cabriolet with Kugelfischer fuel injection and it has the original engine,g/box and axle and most other major parts.Mind you its had a lot of TLC and work by me.
