Hi, while watching some poor tv program the camera panned out for a split second and revealed this

Just wondered if it was stock as you don't see many six wheelers around?

It looks like a Ford Granada estate from mid/late seventies with another bit of Granada estate grafted onto the back.

Definitely not standard!

Would never do now for a show car
It would be impossible to fill that wheel arc without moving the ultimate in low profile tyres... caterpillar tracks.

I do hope it was RWD, all that rubber on the front should make it dead easy to drift hehe

The car is powered by a twin turbocharged 500 CID (8 litre) Cadillac V-8 lifted from the then current Eldorado. The Transaxle was also used and the entire drivetrain was placed behind the driver.

I don't think it was real.
Look at the pic closely - click on the small image.
There is a definite difference in image quality at the level of the 'original' C-post, the two wheels are not aligned and the point between the two wheel arches comes to a misty, indeterminate end. There is a line down the brickwork of the building behind as well. It's not a gutter downpipe; no other house in the view has one, it's a mislaignment of the bricks. See also the dashed white line in the road; the dash next to the 'rear' of the two wheels is also mislaigned , whne all the others are straight. Either this is the product of a TV film glitch, or it has been Photoshopped!

'untakenname' is a suspiciuous username to use - are you pulling a jape?
Did you have a prvious go at this, whith a picture of another Granada estate?

If any Granada had a roofline kink in it like that, I fear it would fall apart!

Think they only made 3 of these, with all that engine out the back i bet it handled like a tea-trolley!!....anyone remember the `Hustler?`...it was a 6 wheeled mini-moke lookalike.

For some unfathomable reason I quite fancied a Hustler when I was younger. Maturity, thankfully, has dissuaded me from the notion. Quite why anyone would want to drive around in a 6-wheeled greenhouse is now beyond my understanding.

I can't believe you actually had a photo of this! That is awesome! I haven't seen it for thirty years, I was taken round Silverstone in it all those years ago and fell in love with it! Does anyone know what happened to it?
