I've had this car in my 'garage' on PH for some time, discovered last year in a lockup near Didcot, Dad and I did a deal with the owner to acquire it.

Yesterday we took a trip up there to have a better look over the old girl, and squirt some vitals with WD40 to help free them up. Story behind her is that the previous owner bought her MOT'd in 1980 with the intention of using the number plate. He drove it into a barn, and that's where she still is.

We have lots of old paperwork including the old buff log book and owners manual, documents that show her being 'acquired' for army use during the war, and even the last MOT from 1980.

Engine is the original 1500cc straight six, producing a lively 12HP.

General condition overall is very good! The running boards have lost their ongoing battle with rust and gravity, and the sills are a tad flakey, but on the whole she's pretty sound. Once jacked up, all the wheels spun freely, we just need some puff in the tyres to roll it out of the barn.

She'll be staying put for just a little while longer until we have a spot at home, then the recovery can take place!

Nice! it should roll along well with that straight six under the bonnet - the 12HP is the RAC rating for taxation, not the bhp wink Look forward to reading about its rejuvenation in due course.

Aha, thanks for that - yes after further reading its output should be nearer 33-35bhp...

I'll keep this updated with any developments, and let you all know when she sees the light of day again!

Just an update on the Vauxhall - it has been a slow few months, and I'm sad to say she's still where I found her last year.

I have however been to pump her tyres up, amazingly 3 out of the 4 stayed inflated, which will make rolling her out easier.

My garage at home is nearing completion, so I hope to start recovery some time in the next few weeks!
