as in the title.

did merc make the old vintage 80s era metal hubcaps to fit 14inch wheels?

i've seen quite a few to fit a 15 inch rim, but none to fit a 14 inch rim.

thanks

My seam odd, but have you tried the local Merc dealer? I can remember reading that they are one of the best manufactureres for supporting their older cars.

Yes.

Most of the early '80s cars ran with 14" wheels.

Most of these were 13" or 14"

13" on the likes of Pontons and Fintails during the 1950s and 1960s

Later cars like the W114/115 'New Generation' models , W123 , W116 , early W107 all ran 14" wheels as standard ; the earliest to run 14" as standard would have been the W113 Pagoda series SLs .

While 15" wheels were an option , even on some of the early cars , they are quite rare .

15" wheels only became standard on later models such as W201 after the first couple of years production with 14" wheels , W124 , post facelift W126 ( 14" on earlier ones ) , later R107 SLs after the W126 coupes had replaced the SLC .

Different generations of cars , even though the wheels were nominally the same diameter , had different styles of metal ( and later on , plastic ) hubcaps . I do have a few sets of 13 , 14 and 15" ones in various styles but , sorry , not for sale in case any of mine get stolen or damaged .

It is possibly worth trying the dealers ( expensive ) or some of the specialist breakers . There are also specialists on the continent such as DB Depot , SLS ( both in Hamburg ) or Niemollers in Mannheim .

Which car do you have ? I could look up the MB part number for you ?

it's to go on a 1982 hymer motorhome on a merc chassis. they're going to sit in the garage until the motorhome is finished and will be saved as the last item to go on. i can't wait
