Just watching wrecks rescue and seen three chaps taking a pile of rusted old parts

Anyway have seen the finished article and wow what a lovely racing car.

Does anyone know what the power of these things were the power to weight and how much would a mended working example cost??

Thinking something like this is far better than any modern track day tool this is a proper racing car.

Am assuming very few PH know about these

Didn't see the programme (going to look now!) but they are a pretty car - much better than the 200.

Looks like the PH knowledge is lacking on this one

Front engined Juniors are probably about £25,000 - £30,000 maybe a touch more for a winning car / super history.

For a racer to use as a trackday toy, I'd look at an early Formula Ford or a Clubmans / F1200 (I'm re building one at the moment)

Powerwise: they are 1100cc, and Elvas are usually BMC A-series engined, so approw 120bhp? (Swiftune website will give specs) they don't weigh much though, so Power to weight is good. Ford engines might have a bit more poke.

I have now found a new target of obsession.

These historic Formula Junior cars look like brilliant fun.

On Discovery channel over a number of episodes one chap bought one in pieces which he needed to fabricate parts also didn't have all the body work but luckily had the moulds so had some new fibre glass made.

End result looked stunning - though its a very snug driving setup he was an average chap who no doubt liked a few ales and struggled to fit in.

Sounded lovely.

lack of moulds shouldn't be a problem - just design and make your own bodywork.......

I am! (Not a Junior, but basically a 2 seater version)
