Two fine examples, notice lack of 3.0 csl logo on stripes of early car as well as lak of scheel headrests. I think that car was polaris or golf.

Somewhere, in a pile of old '70's BMW bulletins I have the info on the driveback where UK dealers who ordered one could drive the car back to the UK. I'll have to look for it.
I had an Inka orange one that was such a car, one of Park Lane's iirc, 1972on the 'L'.

That's the one 4 star classics had up for sale for ages isn't it. £130k or so ? I stared at it A LOT.

yes Been "sold" now, although whether that means someone's bought it or it's been punted on to another dealer to try their luck with remains to be seen..

what would you say is the modern day equivalent to the Batmobile? Its looks are so outrageous that i cannot think of anything in its class

The late Bill Body Editor of the once great Motor Sport magazine and Michael Tee his production manager did an epic Ten Capitals blast in November 1972 in this Golf Yellow CSL. They drove this car very hard, but it never missed a beat.
