it's a shame no one has covered a restoration where you cant just go out and buy a shed load of brand new bits and stick them all together, but i suppose it would be quite hard to cover the raking about autojumbles, adapting other bits to fit,knocking bits of metal into something resembling repair panels and making it all look appealing to the masses, i would find it more interesting than another e type resto I emailed in - but they didn't want my 1936 barn find Vauxhall 12/6.

Spoke to them on the phone, somehow they want to surprise the owner by doing it in secret, wonder how thatll work? Pretty sure id notice my Daimler was missing....I emailed in - but they didn't want my 1936 barn find Vauxhall 12/6.

Also its the usual.tv pish, the owner needs a tearjerking story etc.
So if youre dying of some rare disease, or looking after someone who is, have a resto project that you wont notice has disappeared for a few months, get your mates in touch with them.......

I can't remember the name of the programme but this formula has been imported from our friends in the USA. Discovery used to show it.Also its the usual.tv pish, the owner needs a tearjerking story etc.

I did tell them I'd say whatever they wanted for television purposes... 
"It was my great uncles car used by him during the war...." etc etc... throw in a few tears too if it makes good tele
Anyway... I think working on a car where you couldn't pop down the auto factors and buy parts for it scared the bejeeesus out of them.
